Themed workshops

​Starting in May, we offer two workshops a month to everyone who's interested in learning new pottery skills. 

The workshops take place in our beautiful and warm studio.

Limited spots : 6 people maximum.

Member rate: $32.50+ tx = $37.35

Perfecting throwing: optimizing and simplifying techniques. Perfect for limiting bad bends and improving your throwing experience, as well as the quality of your pieces. 

Date: Saturday, May 24, from 10 am to 12:30 pm

*Learnings-based, no parts will be kept or fired.

*Prerequisite: minimum 2 months turning experience.


Autonomy in the studio: Clay recycling, drying management, personalized advice on making pieces, technical questions, etc.

Date: Tuesday, May 27, 6 - 8:30 pm

 

 

June 

 

Introduction to handbuilding with slabs: Making a fruit tray with colored clay. 

Includes firing/glazing for a tray.

Date: Saturday June 7, 10 am to 12:30 pm

 

Throwing larger volumes: 1kg to 2kg (or according to level)

*Based on apprenticeships, no pieces will be kept or fired. 

Date: Thursday June 12, 6pm to 8:30pm

 

July 

 

Autonomy in the studio: clay recycling, drying management, tips for making parts, etc. 

Date: Wednesday, July 9, 6 pm to 8:30 pm

August 

Decorating with engobes (colored slip). Introduction to the different techniques of decorating with engobes, Sgraffito, Mishima, decals, engravings, etc. 

Includes 2 small or medium-sized fired pieces.

Date: Saturday August 9, 10 am to 12:30 pm

 


Introduction to handbuilding: pinched pots and small sculptures 

Includes 2 small fired pieces.

Date: Wednesday, August 20, 6 to 8:30 p.m.

More infos 

Trimming your nails beforehand  is recommended.

 

The clay might stain clothing and shoes, it is recommended that you wear old clothes and bring an apron. 

Your finished pieces will be ready for pick up approximately 4 weeks after the last class of the session.

There are no refunds for missed classes unless the session is canceled by us. We need a minimum a 3 people to start the class. If we don't have enough registrations, we might reschedule the session. If a student misses a class it can't be taken again.
